Welcome back everyone! We are happy to announce our annual Game Night, which will take place on Friday February 2nd at 5 PM. Hi Everyone!

This is our first info session of the semester. During this event, Blue Shield will be sharing some exciting opportunities for recent graduates (<1), May 2018 graduates, December 2018 graduates, and junior level IT associates. Positions will be based in Blue Shield offices in San Francisco, Oakland, and El Dorado Hills.

Blue Shield will be offering 15 full-time positions for applications developers starting Summer 2018.

There may be some internship opportunities as well.

PCB Workshop

PCB Workshop

Good evening SCE! Just a heads up we will be holding an intro to PCB workshop next week. The PCB workshop will introduce the basics of PCB design, manufacturing, and component sourcing. We will be going through the basics of how to use DipTrace, how to manufacture your PCB using Bay Area Circuits or Osh Park, as well as how to find components using mouser and digikey.

The workshop will be run by Khalil Estell who is the former executive advisor of the Software and Computer Engineering Society for 2016. Please come by and learn more about him at the workshop. Hope to see everyone there!

SCE is celebrating Lunar New Year this week by giving students red envelopes with chocolate coins inside! So, please drop by when the SCE club room opens on Thursday and Friday, ask the officer and they will give you one red envelopes with coins inside . Good evening SCE! We are glad to announce our upcoming Verilog workshop. We will be covering the following topics: drawing tool (Draw.io), external text editor (Sublime), understanding waveforms, debugging using the schematics, mapping out constraint files, introduction to tasks, etc. This workshop will be run by Vincent Chu, a Computer Engineer in his Senior year.

Fun Fact: Vincent enjoys making art our of paper. Some of his art pieces have been shown off in SCE this past week.

This SCE lab will be run by Sameer Nabeel Azer. Sameer is: an SJSU graduate with a Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering, currently enrolled in SJSU graduate program and employed by Essai, Inc.

This workshop requires basic C programming. You are allowed to follow along; however, this workshop will not provide any equipment for you to use

Very Important: This is a two part workshop. If you don’t attend the first workshop and attend the second workshop, we will not repeat information provided in the first workshop.

– DC open loop control system
– DC closed loop control system
– Quadrature encoder

**What you will need:** All you need is a text edit of some kind (Notepad totally works) and Google Chrome.
