The Google File System
The Google File System (GFS) is a large scale distributed file system used for internal Google data and as a building block for other Google storage services. This presentation is a brief, high-level overview of GFS, and GFS related testing. Included is a discussion of GFS architecture, features, and a 10,000 foot view of the testing that goes into GFS.   The main goal of this presentation is to provide insight into the complexity of Google infrastructure, and a few strategies that are used by Software Engineers in Test at Google. For further details, please see the public GFS architecture paper:   http://labs.google.com/papers/gfs.html

Tech Talk Speaker:

Michael Bachman, an engineering manager leading the billing test engineering organization at Google.

Google is accepting applications for both full-time and internships. For more opportunities at Google please apply online by visiting www.google.com/jobs/students.
